Weiser Church of the Nazarene

A place to belong

About Our Pastor:

Hunter & Chrissy Mizar met in Anchorage, AK. They dated through high school and married after their first year of college. They both graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 2000. Hunter’s degree was in Religious Education, and Chrissy’s was in Business Administration. Chrissy has gone on to finish a degree in Elementary Education and is employed at Weiser School District, Pioneer School. They have two children, Emma (age 13) and Josh (age 9).

Worship, youth and children’s ministries, and missions are very important to the Mizar family.  They feel that the church is the extension of God’s hands on earth, and the church should be reaching out to the community to reach the lost. The church should be warm and welcoming, making visitors feel comfortable and at home.

For fun, the Mizar family enjoys music, basketball, and being in nature.  Emma and Josh participate in sports and in quizzing.

What is a Nazarene Church?

Weiser Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, tracing its roots to an anniversary date of 1908. It was founded to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christlike living) across the lands. Today the Church of the Nazarene is located in 156 world areas.

We are a Great Commission church. Our mission is to make Christlike disciples in the nations. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are called to take this message to people everywhere.

We are also a holiness church. We believe that Christians can experience a deeper level of life in which there is victory over sin, power to witness and serve, and a richer fellowship with God, all through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
